Why did Elon Musk choose the letter X as a rebrand for Twitter

Elon Musk has long since been in love with the letter X. Way back in March of 1999, X.com was first founded.  

Musk had immense plans for X: it would be an all-encompassing platform for all your financial business. No waiting time for your bank transfers.  

This plan ended up becoming Paypal back in 2000 after a string of business acquisitions ever since then X has been dormant. Until X.com was repurchased by Musk on July 5th of 2017 from the now independent Paypal.com.  

 

Another early tell for Musk’s love for the letter X is of course the successful spacecraft manufacturer SpaceX, which was founded by Musk back in 2002 and it saw quick success with the Falcon 1 orbital launch vehicle launching in september of 2008 there have been a lot of iterations to the Falcon series of launch vehicles until in December 2015 a breakthrough came in the way of a successful landing and recovery of first stage.  

 

Then in 2017 SpaceX became the leading global commercial launch provider  

Now you’re getting the gist of the story about how much Musk cares for the letter X, did you know that his son that came out of his relationship with singer Grimes bears the letter X as a big part of the kid’s name? It’s very odd to pronounce so I’m not even gonna try but the child's name is X AE A-XII  

Now after the tangent/backstory on Musk’s relationship with the letter X.com we get to the meat of it. When Musk acquired Twitter on October 4, 2022 we’re sure he already had big plans to make Twitter into the big super platform called X.  

 

As properly evidenced by a conversation with Ron Baron about a month after, Musk said that he would put the plan for the X product into motion however “with some improvements” which would in Musk’s vision make Twitter “the most valuable financial institution in the world”  

 

Almost a year later on July 22nd 2023, Musk put his plan into motion by rebranding Twitter into X. the blue bird logo we all know and love has been replaced by a black X and rebranding the Twitter Blue subscription to X Blue which allows you to download videos from X.com (formerly Twitter) now if you don’t want to pay a monthly subscription fee you can use our website Xsave and download X.com and of course Twitter videos for absolutely free, just grab your link and paste it in the main bar on our home page and you’re off to the races.

Recently on July 28th of 2023 another part of the rebranding occurred where the Twitter app started linking to (linkX.com and proceeded to change its name to X and an update to the logo also occurred. They also adopted a new tagline which reads as follows “Blaze your glory!”
