Two X.com stories today. X.com Crypto? Indonesian twitter?

Rumors have been circulating as to various new crypto coins of people attempting to feed off of the highly controversial and news-headlining story of X.com. One of such being the crypto coin MiniElon. <BR>  

To the point where Musk himself warned his followers not to fall into the trap of these new crypto coins. He claims to have no association with it whatsoever and in a later statement said that there is no cryptocurrency related to X.com and also that there are no plans for such a thing to spring into life.  

 

Now if his transformation to an “everything” will include support for cryptocurrency I do not know. Seeing as it supposedly doing “everything” would mean cryptocurrency has got to be in the plan too. evidenced by the inclusion of banking in the future of X.com.  

Now Musk has also shown clear affinity to cryptocurrency before when he famously bought a metaphorical truckload of Bitcoin in early 2021 when BTC was at its highest ever peak so far, and also stating Tesla would have BTC as a payment option which never came to fruition.  

 

Now Musk is allegedly searching for a partner in the Financial data business to construct a trading area on the X.com app. Now Musk did personally deny this on X saying that “no work is being done on this to the best of my knowledge”  

<Br> News outlet Semafor seems to say differently citing various documents and quoting people active in the business. “Real-time information is a powerful force, especially in the world of invest” is written in a request sent to big players in the past few weeks requesting proposals for financial content, stock data in real-time, and other various features. X seems to claim that they can offer these “big players” the ability to reach “hundreds of millions of highly-qualified users” There’s is not any compensation in it for these companies though. The request instructs interest players to state how much money they want to spend on the project themselves. It is not clear as of yet which companies, if any at all, submitted their interest in the form of a proposal, which were supposed to be due last week. &nbsp;

 

Does this mean that crypto currency is in the cards? Definitely. But as of yet Musk has denied it. I do believe that if crypto currency flares up again in the future that there might not be a choice in it if X truly wants to be all encompassing.

Musk has stated on various occasions that he envisions X as the first Western-super-app as seen by WeChat in China, also seen by Gojek in Indonesia, Grab in Singapore, and one I hadn’t heard of yet: Gozem in Africa. They offer a big collection of services to the consumer such as delivering of food, getting a taxi, investing with your hard earned money, payments as well and surprisingly even identity authentication all rolled into one. Like a Swiss army knife for daily life.  

 

Now for the latest news feed on people not agreeing with Elon Musk’s change to X.com  

 

Indonesia stops Musk’s X.com on the premise of the domain previously being related to adult content and gambling.

 

 

First a bit of backstory. Indonesia has a strong policy to block websites containing online adult content and sites that contain gambling Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Informatics stated that the URL X.com was previously used by websites offering services that weren’t holding to the country’s strong laws against “negative” content e.g adult content and online gambling.  

 

Usman Kansong. (Director General of Information and public communication at the Indonesian Ministry of Communications) stated that the authorities have been in touch with the team of *linkX.com to determine whether the nature of the site was adhering to the law. “Earlier today, we spoke with representatives from Twitter and they will send a letter to us stating that X.com will be used by Twitter,” Director General Kansong reported to local media last Tuesday.

This roadblock currently results in that Indonesians currently cannot utilize the platform which allegedly has roughly 24 millions users of the total population of 270 million 24 million users is “a lot” of people to suddenly lose, albeit temporarily. Roadblocks seem to come about often in Musk’s controversial rebranding.
